We have been very busy in K1B! The children have been doing great with Lively Letters, learning lots about 3D shapes, and having lots of exploring in Science. We had a great afternoon with Grade 7, dissecting Owl Pellets. In addition to learning so much about owls and owl pellets, the opportunity to have K1 spend time with the older kids was so special. This is one of the things that makes SJP so special. Developing and fostering relationships.
For Lent is K1B we will be focusing on acts of kindness. Using the book “How full is your bucket?” As inspiration, we will be doing our best to be bucket fillers!

We sure have been busy in K1B! The students continue to show wonderful growth with their skills. Lively Letters is the phonices program we use in K1. I love to watch a child look at a word, and sound it out correctly! The look of pride is a look I’ll never tire of seeing!
We are getting lots of postcards for our postcard project from all around the world! Keep them coming!
We are getting ready to celebrate Catholic Schools Week! Lots of surprises and treats! It is always very important the children arrive on time, and this week is no exception. Please refer to the CSW calendar you received via email as well as in your child’s folder. I have posted some photos of recent centers and activities!

It has been a couple of weeks since I have updated! We have been very busy in K1B! The students have been learning about how animals adapt to winter, Dr. King and Ruby Bridges, and have been moving quickly with Lively Letters!! We began our U. S. Post Card Project! This is one of my favorite things to do with the kids. We are asking friends and family to send us postcards, and we hang them and note them on the map. The children learn so much about our country, and so enjoy getting a postcard in the mail!
we have been very busy in K1B. The children did an amazing job in the Christmas Show. I think we have some potential stars here! Thank you to all
the parents that attended.
I also want to thank all who came to Parent Conferences. I knew I had a special group this year, and after meeting with families, I now know why. Heartfelt thanks for being amazing families, and always supporting our class.
We also ended the week by going to see “The Grinch”. Everyone loved it! The kids all did great! I will definitely see that again with my grandsons!
Despite our rather full social schedule, the work must go on! Sounding out words has been a big part of the past weeks. The students are excited to do this, and are anxious to do
more each day! In math, the kids are adding groups of objects, and are happy to make a pattern anywhere they can!! I have posted some photos of recent class activities.

Please remember to sign up for a conference time on December 7th. There is NO SCHOOL for students that day. If that date is not good for you, please let me know and we can find a time that works. It is expected all families meet with teachers.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! As we prepare for Advent, my hope is we all can see the wonder of Christmas through the eyes of a child.
Please note that our Scholastic Book Fair is beginning Monday. K1B will go to the book fair on Thursday at 9:00. If you would like your child to purchase a book, please send money in an envelope with child’s name.

K1B were so happy to present Officer Nicole and Officer Jeff from BPD School Police Unit some baked goods and an adorable Thank You card. We are so grateful for their support to our school community. It amazes me that they to visit our class and remember the names of so many! They meet kids throughout the city, and make each child feel special. They amaze me!❤️
Wednesday, November 21st, all students will be dismissed at 11:30. There is NO AFTERSCHOOL!
Please remember to send in canned goods for our Food Drive! K1B is doing so well! Tomorrow, Monday, November 19th is the final day to donate. Let’s win this!!!
We are so happy to have Miss M back this year to learn about Nutrition!
I can’t believe it is November! K1B students have been working very hard. We learned about Fire Safety last week! Ask your student to tell you all they learned. We have been practicing letter and member ID every day, as well as printing names. Tomorrow we will begin Livey Letters, which is a phonics program. Get ready for your child to share all the letter sounds with you! This is the start of sounding words out. We had a visit from Mrs. Nesti’s brother, and his partners from the BPD! What a nice surprise! We also had the Mass. State Police come by with the pink MSP car! Along with our partners at the BPD, we were able to present them with a check from our Tag day, for breast cancer research. Look at all our photos to see some of the fun thing we have been up to! I know I say it every year, but these kids are amazing!❤️
